If you are into walleyes then this is your week!
The bite has been fantastic on Park Rapids area lakes. From eaters to trophies, walleyes are being caught on medium leeches and orange 1/8 oz. jigs fished from 13-23ft deep along weed edges that are just out from shore. Sunken islands in the 20-30 ft. range have also been a good bet especially for mid-day fishing. The best technique has been dragging the jig along the bottom while slowly moving the boat around ½ mph. Every once in a while give the jig a quick upward “snap” to help draw the attention of fish and trigger a sudden bite!
