From hometown cafes to fine dining and java to vino, the dining scene in the Heartland
Lakes offers a variety of cuisines and experiences. Consider this “menu” of possibilities
as a starting point and be ready to be delighted.
Necce’s Ristorante
From its luxurious atmosphere to its fresh and authentic menu, Necce’s Ristorante is a
destination of its own. Chef Denese creates extraordinary fare in the restaurant’s
recently remodeled kitchen and travels to Italy almost every year to learn new
techniques and menu options. From astonishing appetizers to fanciful desserts, dining
at Necce’s is designed to be an experience. And in the summer, an outdoor patio and
vegetable and herb garden only add to the memories to be made.
Good Life
Good food and a modern family atmosphere live up to the name of this restaurant in
downtown Park Rapids. Try a walleye BLT or taco, gouda bacon mac and cheese or
wild rice hot dish. The menu includes vegetarian and vegan options, soup and/or
flatbread of the day. It’s the place to meet friends for lunch, dinner, and drinks where
you’re always welcome and in good company.
The 3rd Street Market
For those with a hunger for homemade and natural food, 3rd Street Market is your go-to
place for lunch. Soup and sandwich specials, salads and build-your-own wraps and
salads are among the choices that satisfy. And there’s always room for homemade pie,
made fresh daily with the Market’s famous nutty pie crust and topped with real whipped
cream. Plus, check out their extensive selection of retail options and grab a coffee to go
next door at Bella Caffè.
Great Northern Café
Looking for a hidden gem that locals love? Stop in for breakfast at the Great Northern
on Hwy 34. This hometown café features hearty and delicious food as well as décor that
pays homage to the Great Northern Railway that developed the railroad through Park
Rapids.
Music, music, music
Most nights there are several establishments hosting musicians and bands. Listen to
great live bands, Open Mic Night or Karaoke fun at Zorbaz on the Lake as you dine on
dependably great pizza and Mexican food. Iron Horse Bar & Grill in Nevis offers an
impressive selection of BBQ, burgers, and beats on their outdoor patio. Clancy’s on
Island Lake where you can enjoy the view, daily specials, and a good band. Revel
Brewing and Wine Not? are hot spots for drinks and music in downtown Park Rapids.
