Minnesota Fishing Guide Service’s Report – 8.10.17

IMG_2908 IMG_2843Hello everyone I spent the last few days fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass in the Park Rapids area. Most of the smallmouth bass action has been happening in the 6 to 23 foot depth range concentrate on areas that include boulders and weeds mixed together. A jig head tipped with a nightcrawler or a plastic crawfish bait will produce fish. Largemouth bass have been caught out of the bulrushes under docks under swim rafts and along the deep weed lines. We list top water baits like a scum frog will work well around or in the slop and lily pads. Use a jig worm or a Texas rigged 7 inch black plastic Berkeley power bait were to finally comb through the deep weedline and find schools of bass. Walleye fishing activity has been good towards evening trolling shallow diving crank baits in the 8 to 10 foot depth range. Try a flicker shad or a classic Shad rap in pearl color combinations. Troll at about 1.5 mph and use a Luer that dives around seven or 8 feet below the surface. Lots of fun and lots of fish.  Captain Josh Minnesota Fishing Guide Service. 218-732-9919 or www.minnesotaguideservice.com.
