It’s happy days again
the ice is gone on many area lakes and thus begins the official open water fishing season. And as the water temperatures rise so does the fishing action! Personally, I like 54 degrees for easy fishing, but decent fishing will start around 45 degrees. The easiest way to find the hot bite and the warmest lakes in the area is to go on a scouting mission with no boat (faster).
Grab a cooking thermometer like my Pampered Chef digital (don’t tell my wife) and drive to all your favorite lakes, stick the probe in the water and take the lakes temperature. Pick the warmest lake and start fishing there first. Crappies and Bluegills will be hugging the warm water areas. Have fun and good luck. Lotsa Fun!
