Walleye fishing in the Park Rapids area remains strong.
They can be found cruising the weed lines and also deep summer structures. Live bait rigs tipped with minnows and night crawlers will produce fish. Look in the depth ranges of 10 to 13 feet on the Weed lines and on the deep summer structures 20 to 40 feet.
Crappies and Bluegills remain suspended outside the deep weed lines going back-and-forth in the morning in the evening hours to feed. Large Northern Pike are starting to approach the shallow weed beds due to cooling water temperatures which are now in the mid to upper 60° range. Trolling large spinner baits or rattle trap baits will catch those fish. Smallmouth bass can be found using any rock pile in the 6 to 12 foot range either midlake structure or shoreline as well. In orange leaf head jig tipped with a nightcrawler or plastic crawfish will do the job.
