Minnesota Guide Services Report – 8/10/2016

IMG_0244 IMG_0253What a nice hot week in the Park Rapids area and the fishing was hot as well multiple good catches of eating size walleyes came into the boat throughout the week along with a couple of real big ones. There seems to be a shallow water pattern right now In some of the larger lakes so I have been concentrating on 4 to 6 feet of water even during mid-day.  Long lining spinners and crawlers have worked the best for the walleyes. I also had numerous largemouth bass fishing trips and caught plenty of them using a Texas style rigged plastic worm on the deep weed lines around 15 to 20 feet of water. The 7 inch black Berkeley power worm did the trick every time. The Crappies can be found at dusk feeding on the surface On newly hatched insects look for fish surfacing just outside be shallow we line along the shoreline drop off’s. Keep the boat far away from the school and lightly cast small tube jigs into the air they are feeding and real it back to the boat slowly about eight or 10 feet under the surface. Have a great week and good luck fishing Captain Josh Minnesota Fishing Guide Service 218 -732-9919
