Mid-summer crappie action continues to be strong
Crappies can be found schooled in and around heavy shallow weed beds in the 8-12 ft range.
1/16 oz tube jigs worked along the edges of the weeds about half way down to the bottom or
just swimming through the tops of the weeds will produce fish.
Mid-day fish can be grouped tight together inside the weeds.
Some cooler nights are resulting in a change in water temps, but Walleyes continue to be found
on weed lines and secondary breaks anywhere from 12-25 ft in depth.
Fast moving live bait rigs like a crawler/spinner combo worked along the weed edges will put fish
in the boat—along with some really nice bluegills.
If temps continue to drop in the lakes, look for the Walleyes to be on the move.
Largemouth bass are also schooling on the deep weed line found on points or inside turns in the 15-20 ft ranges.
