9:00 AM – 45th Annual Firecracker 5K Footrace
The Firecracker 5K Footrace kicks of our community’s 4th of July celebration at 9:00 am. Racers will start and finish in Heartland Park, and there will be a free kids 1K Fun Run following the 5K. Online registration is available here until July 2. Then, on-site registration and bib pick up will be held in Heartland Park from 6:30-8 PM on July 3 and 6:30-8:15 AM on July 4th.
11:00 AM – 4th of July Parade
Join us as we “Salute to the Troops- Heroes in our Hearts” with the Chamber’s annual 4th of July Parade in downtown Park Rapids. The parade will feature grand marshal and Marine Corps veteran Lou Schultz, a military assembly organized by the American Legion, the New York Mills Marching Eagles band, and over 70 participants. New this year, spectators will have the opportunity to vote for the most patriotic and most creative floats. View Parade Route & Details

7:30 PM – Park Rapids Community Band Concert
Head back to Heartland Park to hear the Park Rapids Community Band play a pre-fireworks concert. Under the direction of Adam Hultberg, the program will include a variety of music and pieces by notable composers.
DUSK – Park Rapids Rotary Fireworks Show
The day closes in style with a fireworks display overlooking Fish Hook River and Heartland Park. Pre-fireworks interviews kick off at 9:30 PM on De La Hunt Media, and the Rotary fireworks begin at dusk. The fireworks will be choreographed to music on KDKK 97.5FM and Hot Country 92.5FM. The Park Rapids Rotary Fireworks show is 100% funded by spectator and community contributions. To make a donation in support of the fireworks show, click here.
