Lake Conditions Have Taken a Turn
Lake conditions in the Park Rapids area have definitely taken a turn over the past several days. Two significant snowfalls have made travel conditions challenging. Currently, snowmobiles and track vehicles are the only suggested methods for travel and even so, slush can disable those machines on some lakes. For those who can get out, panfish action has been good in basin areas, though the timing is right for those panfish to begin moving towards the entrances of shallower bays where they’ll set up late ice. Perch anglers are getting nice fish in very shallow water, 3-8ft with spoons tipped with a minnow head performing best.
