What to Expect
Start your adventure with a scenic drive through Itasca State Park’s Wilderness Loop, where you will be greeted with scenic vistas and tree-lined roads that allow you to experience fall (or any season!) in all its glory. After your drive, you will make your way to Lake Itasca Tours boat house in order to board the Chester Charles II for a narrated tour of the lake and its history. Once you’ve relaxed and learned about the discovery of the headwaters of the Mississippi, you will head to the Mary Gibbs Mississippi Headwaters Center and make the short trek to view the headwaters up close. This adventure is filled with beauty and history around every turn and is sure to keep everyone engaged and having fun in nature no matter the season!
