Fishing Report

Bass, pike , walleye , and panfish are all providing great fishing opportunities throughout the Park Rapids Lakes Area

Look for bass along any shoreline cover, under docks, weed beds, or the deep weed line.  White spinnerbaits and black plastic worms are working great in the 6-12 ft. depth ranges.

Pike can also be found in those same areas-but beef up your bait a little bigger with a lot more flash like a Johnson Silver Minnow spoon worked through the thicker weeds.

Walleye are set up in a variety of depths, but the 12-17’ range was the best this week.  Leeches were by far the favorite bait tipped on a 1/8 oz. orange jig head. Sunnies and crappies are still hanging around in the weed beds just outside the spawning areas.  Look for them in 5-10 ft of water and use 1/16 oz jigs loaded with a small white or grey plastic curly tail grub and cast the bait and  slowly retrieve the baits through the weeds about 3 ft under the surface.
