Attract and catch more pan fish by getting aggressive
I like to have a rod rigged up with a medium sized gold or silver jigging spoon like a JBlures Weasel, Kastmaster, or a Northland buckshot spoon.
I spend the majority of my day searching for schools of panfish. It starts with marking them through the ice with the Vexilar Fl-28.
Then I drop a small horizontal jig tipped with a wax worm and catch all of the active fish first.
When or if the initial flurry of fish caught ends, I drop in my jigging spoon and jig the heck out of it attempting to attract more fish and or trigger the non-aggressive fish.
Typically it works like magic and helps to land the biggest fish in the school.
I tip one of the treble hooks with a spike or two for scent purposes. Lotsa Fish! Lotsa Fun!
