Your weekly round-up of snowmobile, ski and snowshoe trail conditions…
Yes it’s cold but the groomers have still been out and running!
Forest Riders Snowmobile Club – 1-31-19 – Even with the bitter cold temperatures the groomers have been out all week taking care of the trails (and will be out Friday too). We received an additional 7 inches of snow on Monday and the trails are grooming up beautifully. Trails to Park Rapids, Itasca, Two Inlets and West and North have all been completed and today trails to Wolf Lake and Osage will be finished. Weekend forecast looks to be nice and warm and riding should be excellent! Enjoy!
Nevis Trailblazers – 1/28/2019 WOW!! Last night the Nevis Area received a good 6-8 inches of snow!! Our prayers have been answered and this is the best snow winter we have had that I can remember in a long time. We were definitely due and mother nature owed us this!! We have a full week of grooming this week and will be already for the warmer temps coming this weekend.
If you get a chance get to the Nevis area for a ride you wont be disappointed!!
Get out and enjoy the snow!!
Itasca State Park Ski/Snowshoe Trails –
From the Minnesota DNR site: Itasca State Park Ski Trails – Fresh snow Sunday (January 27) and conditions are great for winter sports! Six inches fell Sunday/Monday (January 27-28.) Ski Groomer will be out this week packing and setting track and combing skate lanes on the ski trails. The visitor center lobby is now open as a warming shelter for the snow season.
Snowshoe Trails: Fresh snow means nice snowshoeing. Cleats on snowshoes are recommended on the more packed trails. If breaking your own trail, conditions are excellent. Expect a thin crust of ice on top of the snow. Get out and enjoy winter. Dr. Roberts Trail is well used.
