Minnesota Fishing Guide Service’s Report – 02.07.18

Crappies are being caught suspended over deep water.  Look for them in deep holes of 35 feet or more suspended 10-15 feet off of the bottom. Small jigging spoons tipped  with a minnow head will do the trick.  Glow in the dark or gold has been productive.

Northern Pike action continues to be strong around old weed beds using tip ups and big chubs for live bait.  If your adventurous, try a hot dog on a quick strike rig.  Fun Dogs work the best.

Walleyes are cruising classic deep mud flats, humps, and steep breaks leading to deep water.  Jigging spoons with a minnow head or a sip bobber minnow rig has been working as well.  And don’t forget the dead stick rig!
