Hot weather brings hot fishing in the Park Rapids area. The Crappie fishing has been really good along the weed lines and also on top of weedy sunken islands during the day using small jigs tip with a crappie minnow. Walleyes have been caught on the deep structure in the areas deepest clear lakes as far down as 40 feet using live bait rigs and rainbow chubs. Don’t ignore the basic we line in that 15 foot range for additional great walleye catching opportunities using a jig and a leech. Monster bluegills can be found off of the deep weed lines as well they can be caught by using a live bait rig and a panfish sized leech often times down to 20 feet in depth.
