Time to Celebrate!
There’s reason to celebrate, because with a little over a week until the 2023 MN Fishing Opener, most lakes in the Park Rapids area are ice-free!
Despite the lakes opening up just a couple days ago, anglers are already venturing out to explore the shallow, warmer water regions in search of panfish. If you want another opportunity to explore the water prior to opener, people can spear suckers. Though they’ve been prevalent in the rivers and streams, they’re not spawning in our lakes quite yet.
