As Fall sets in we are enjoying big numbers of just about any fish you want to catch!
We have been focusing on jumbo perch, crappies, and walleyes throughout the area. Crappies can be found suspending over deep mud flats in the 20-30ft range. Use jigging raps or 1/8 oz jigs tipped with a fathead minnow to put fish in the boat. Jumbo perch are schooling heavily on shallow weed flats from 8-13ft deep which borders deep water of 20 ft. or more.
A jig and minnow combination will load the boat with fresh perch. Walleyes are schooled up on deep green weed lines especially if the weed line is on a break that plunges down to water as deep as 50 ft. Live bait rigs tipped with an active minnow or chub will make the walleyes commit to the hook.
