The Crappie action in the Park Rapids area is on fire and the fish just keep getting bigger.
Crappies up to 16 inches have been caught this week using 1/16 oz jigs tipped with a small white twister tail or a Croppie minnows making a long cast and slowly swimming the jig back to the boat in depths of 2 to 4 feet of water. The Walleye action has also picked up nicely trolling crankbaits over shallow sand weed flats in the 6-10 ft depth range.
Shiner or Perch patterns have been working the best. The bass are spawning so they will hit anything thrown at them. A senko worm rig has been extremely effective. Please release the bass.
