Well, the snow is here.
We got snow…we got lots of snow…. Making New Year’s extended weekend a great weekend to hit the trails. KPRM Radio is reporting 7.5 inches of snow overnight and maybe another 6 inches in this storm through Friday morning. The weather service out of Grand Forks predicts that we will get 12-18 inches by the time it settles down Friday morning.
It may turn into a blizzard this afternoon but for now it’s a fluffy wonderland out there. There are more updates to come.
Forest Riders Snowmobile Club Report
The trails are open and anyone that is out riding will help groomers make a better base! Enjoy and Happy New Years! Mother Nature is giving the Park Rapids area a late Christmas present! Currently, we have 9+ inches of snow and it is still snowing! Forecasters are saying another 6 inches before the weather system moves out of the area.
Groomers will be out getting the trails ready for a fabulous snowmobiling experience! Ice conditions on the lakes are great with depths of 13 inches or more! Remember to stay on the trails!
Come to the wonderful Northland and enjoy the trails!
12/27/2018 Snow Report. Our Christmas Prayers were answered!! SNOW!!
Posted by billb on December 27, 2018
Well I could not wait to post something and was so hoping it would be in 2018. Well it happened!! Last night the Nevis Area got about 8-10 inches of heavy much needed snow. My ruler said a hair over 8 inches and is still snowing pretty good.
We will see how much wind and more snow we get and next week make an assessment as to when to start grooming. We generally like to wait until some snowmobilers get out an pack the snow down so there is something to work with. I will post something when this storm is over for a snow total and hopefully a grooming schedule.
Coming up for the weekend? Where to stay.
Check out snow conditions live on our webcams.
