Minnesota Fishing Guide Service’s Report – 06.13.18

Lotta Fish Lotta FunWalleye fishing has been consistent throughout the Park Rapids area.

Fish are being caught on weed bed cabbage flats in the 6 to 10 foot depth range trolling spinners and leeches. Walleyes are also being caught on the new deeper Weed lines in the 12 to 17 foot range using jig and leech or Minnow combinations.

The big Sunfish are on the spawning beds and are very easy to catch so make sure you release some of the big ones for future anglers. Crappies have left the spawning areas and are now meandering out towards the deeper water where they can be found roaming shallow weedy flat as well use a pink and white plastic grub tipped with a small Crappie minnows and retrieve slowly through the weeds.

Largemouth bass are also dispersing out to the weed beds. Casting and retrieving a white spinner bait will produce bass and also bonus northern pike cruising the shallow green weed beds.
