Fishing in the Park Rapids Region is taking a steep turn into Fall patterns—quickly. This is creating heavy schooling of fish. As the waters cool the fishing gets hot. This will continue through October. This is the time of the year to start using big minnows for live bait for walleyes and Pike. Steep drop offs from big shallow shoreline flats leading into deep water are keys spots for both species. Live bait rigs like a lindy rig or a simple jig head tipped with a lively rainbow chub will do the trick. Look for sunfish and crappies on deeper mud flats in the 20-30 ft. range. Use a jog and minnow to land the biggest panfish. Lots Fish Lotsa Fun! Capt Josh Hagemeister, Minnesota Fishing Guide Service, www.minnesotaguideservice.com 218-732-9919
