Local walleye fishing action has been good. Depth range from 12 to 40 feet depending on the lake. Leeches and nightcrawlers have been the most productive on live bait rigs with a long Snell. A jig head tipped with a leech is also a good bet. Hungry panfish can be caught in 6 to 10 feet of water in the weed beds using a hook in a chunk of a leech for Bait suspended about 4 feet down with a bobber. However the biggest sunfish are on the deep weed line so use a Lindy rig with the panfish sized leech in the 15 foot range. Crappies are beginning to suspend in the warmer lakes so look for them roughly 12 to 15 feet down from the surface over 30 feet of water or so. A slip bobber and a Crappie minnows or using the countdown method with a 16 ounce jig head and a white grub will produce fish. Big fish big fun.
