Park Rapids Lakes Area Fishing Report

Park Rapids Area Fishing Report 4/24/15

Submitted by Smokey Hills Outdoor Store, Nathan Campbell

With the ice off of all the Park Rapids area lakes and the waters warming quickly.  The Crappie and sunfish spawn is moving quicker than usual.

Crappies- With spawn in full swing the crappies will be biting aggressively. Tie on a white and pink or green and white Flu Flu paired with a crappie minnow and a slip bobber to pull your limits in!

Sunfish- Like crappies, Sunfish are also in full swing with their spawn as well. Find the spawning sunfish in she shallower waters on top of their beds in anywhere from 1′-10’feet.  Rig up a Northland™ jig head paired with any Northland™ plastic Impluse or wax worm.

Just a reminder, Northern and walleye season opens Saturday May 9th. A new for 2015 Minnesota law allows for catch and release largemouth & smallmouth bass fishing May 9th- May 22nd.

Good Luck Fishing!
