Paul Bunyan State Forest

Located about 20 miles northeast of Park Rapids, north of Nevis and Akeley, the Paul Bunyan State Forest stretches over 100,000 acres and features pine forests and rough, hilly terrain. This Forest offers hundreds of miles of trails perfect for snowmobiling, ATVs, dirt bikes, hiking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. Campers can stay at Gulch Lake or Mantrap Lake campgrounds.
