Nevis

At the midpoint on the famous Heartland Trail, Nevis offers a fun place to stop for a break. The swimming beach on Lake Belle Taine also is one of the best in the area. A shelter in Muskie Park offers a gathering and picnicking spot by the world's largest tiger muskie, a statue that has inspired many a fishing dream. Nevis celebrates its icon and outdoor heritage during Muskie Days in July. Residents also honor Scandinavian culture at Uffda Days in August and host the annual Northwoods Triathlon, perfectly set in the waters of Lake Belle Taine and along the paved Heartland Trail.
