Where the mighty Mississippi begins, and adventure never ends...

Fishing

Fishing has led the way as long as there have been railroads and highways. Within 25 miles of Park Rapids more than 400 crystal clear lakes, river and streams are tucked majestically into more than 3 million acres of public land. Muskie, Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and pan fish, such as Blue Gills, Sunnies, Crappies and Perch, populate these lakes and streams.

Because we want to protect our pristine waters from invasive species of all types, please pay attention to the rules for stopping aquatic hitchhikers:

Remove visible plants and animals from your boat, trailer and other boating equipment before leaving the water access;

Drain water from your boat, motor, livewell and bait containers before leaving the water access;

Dispose of unwanted bait in the trash; and

Spraying, rinsing or dry boats and recreational equipment before transporting it to another body of water.
