Resized_20181231_142516Forest Riders Snowmobile Club

Thursday, January 3, 2019 – The Forest Riders will have all trails groomed and ready to go by tomorrow afternoon. Yesterday they completed the new addition to Wolf Lake and Itasca was also completed. One of the groomers is heading to Park Rapids this afternoon so you can get out and enjoy the beautiful trails and weather.

Monday, December 31, 2018 – Great snow and great trails! The Park Rapids area has lots of snow! After receiving another couple of inches of snow last night, we have snow accumulation totals of 16 inches or more!
Groomers have been out packing and grooming the trails. Ditch trails along County Rd 4 and Highway 71 have not been groomed yet. Reports from snowmobilers are the trails are great!
Some map info to pass along to you:

~ #5 – Osage Bait & Tackle (NO FUEL) – should be up and running next weekend…will follow-up
~ #45 – George’s Barn – closed for the season
~ #12 – Lobo’ Bar & Grill – closed for rebuilding after fire
~ #17 – Vacationaire Resort (Clancy’s On Island Lake) – hotel has reopened for lodging
~ New Sponsor-a-Trail participant – Knob & Kettle Restaurant and Lounge (formerly Lake Alice)
located at Intersection F26 on trail map
~ #10 – Itasca Junction name change to Itasca C-Store

Caution: Please be careful when traveling on area lakes as there are plowed roads on some lakes that are hard to see. Eagle Lake has a plowed road that crosses the marked trail twice. Take it easy until you are familiar with a lake.

Nevis Trailblazers

Monday, December 31, 2018 – Well we are still in luck we got another inch or two of snow last night and they are calling for more. But this looks like it will come with cold and high winds so we will see how it plays out.

We are doing a full week of grooming this week so the trails will be already for next weekend. Looks like to will be nice weather so get out and enjoy the trails!!

I went out yesterday and put on about 60 miles with my son and trails were pretty good and snow depth was decent. After this week of grooming we should be in good shape.

I ran into quite a few snowmobilers out on the trail which was great to see!!

Soaring Eagle Ski Trails

Dec 29 – All Trails at Soaring Eagle are groomed and tracked.  Conditions are great.

USXC is coming up and we need your help to make it happen!  Volunteers get to watch the race for free and will be needed to help spot along the race and deal with traffic.  Volunteers get free lunch, a USXC commemorative snow cap and be entered into a special volunteers only USXC merch drawing.
