Park Rapids Area Snowmobile Trail Report;

Forest Riders Groomer_facebook image posted 12.29.17Chamber President, Butch De La Hunt – January 10, 2018

Groomers were out last week.  Many of the trails to the North of Park Rapids groomed up nicely as there was more snow to work with.  Trails that experienced early traffic groomed up better due to packed snow.   Itasca State Park trails were  groomed, as well the Forest Riders and Nevis Trialblazer trail system.   The trails have a fair base to work with but, snow is badly needed to improve riding conditions.   Lakes have sufficient lce conditions, so trails with lake runs are seeing the heavier traffic.  Good news is, snow is in the forecast!

Soaring Eagle Trail;

Soaring Eagle Ski TrailSkinny Ski.com (reported by Deane Johnson) – January 7, 2018

All trails are open and in good condition for today’s open house. Tracks were groomed today on Lillie’s, Lake, and Eagle trails, not Troll. All trails are packed for skating. Surface is mostly clean, with a few twiggy or grassy spots in classic and skate lanes.
