Minnesota Fishing Guide Service’s Report – 1.25.17

MFGS_walleye_1.25.17 MFGS_crappie_1.25.17Some really good night bite fishing has been happening recently throughout the area. This of course makes fishing in a sleeper fish house even more fun as you can catch walleyes or Crappies’ throughout the midnight hours. We have been catching fish in the deep holes of most area lakes typically the fish are suspended anywhere from 5 to 10 feet off of the bottom. Using a variety of lines we have been rigging half of them with shiner minnows and bigger glow-in-the-dark hooks for the walleyed  and small tiny hooks  with Crappie minnows for the crappies. The actual bait depth has been ranging from 25 to 35 feet below the surface. Because of this a decent midday bite has been occurring. During the evening fish are caught at all hours of the night. There is something special about catching a crappie at 2 AM. Good luck out there and be safe. Captain Josh Minnesota Fishing Guide Service 218-732-9919
